HTTTT!

One of the first real words that Allegra learned and could mimic was "hot". We taught her this while cooking at the stove, so anytime she's around the stove, or sees steam, she'll give an emphatic, "Httt!"
Well this morning we found that she could use it in free association as well (not just in the couple of instances we'd illustrated to her). She was laying in bed with Kristen and I as Kristen was reading email on the laptop. When Allegra exclaimed, "Httt!" we weren't immediately sure why. Then Kristen discovered that the power adapter for the laptop was right underneath Allegra in the bed. It gets warm when it's plugged in, and so Allegra let us know.
It's exciting when they start talking, but to see them applying the things they comprehend at such a young age (especially when they're not quite talking yet) is just wild.
